Terms of Service

Agentic Research · Effective November 3, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Agentic Research, a research toolkit developed by Chang Zeng, including its local Gmail and Google Workspace connectors. By using the toolkit, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. The Privacy Policy explains how the connectors handle Google data.

1. The Toolkit

Agentic Research runs on your computer or computing-cluster account and connects AI coding agents you run to services you authorize. Gmail access is read-only. Depending on your Google permissions, Workspace tools can create, edit, share, move, or delete files and change calendars and events. Features may be experimental, change between versions, or become unavailable. No guarantee is made of continued maintenance, support, compatibility, or uninterrupted access to third-party services.

2. Your Responsibilities

3. Acceptable Use

You must not use Agentic Research to:

4. Your Content and Software Licenses

You retain your rights in content you provide or access. These Terms do not grant the developer ownership of that content. Rights to use, copy, modify, or distribute the toolkit and its dependencies are governed by their applicable software licenses; these Terms do not replace those licenses or grant rights in third-party materials.

5. Third-Party Services

Google, your AI provider, your computing provider, and any other connected services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for your accounts, subscriptions, and any charges from those services. Their availability, authorization decisions, data retention, and functionality are outside the developer's control. Agentic Research is an independent project and is not endorsed by Google, Anthropic, or OpenAI.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Agentic Research is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, security, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. AI output may be incorrect, and automated actions may have unintended consequences.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of the toolkit. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

7. Stopping Use

You may stop using Agentic Research at any time. Stop running agents and optional Gmail checkers, revoke the relevant Google grants, and remove saved credentials and data as described in the Privacy Policy. Stopping use does not automatically remove copies held in local logs, agent history, or third-party services. The developer may discontinue updates or developer-managed OAuth availability; your rights under applicable software licenses remain in effect.

8. Changes and Contact

Revisions to these Terms will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Review the current Terms before using an updated version of the toolkit. For questions or support, contact changzeng@umass.edu.
